About the role
Swiss financial institutions work under two overlapping sets of rules: FINMA circulars on operational risk and outsourcing, and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection in force since September 2023. This role helps clients meet both without running two separate programmes. You review data processing records, cross-border transfers and cloud outsourcing arrangements, and you advise on cyber risk controls under FINMA Circular 2023/1. You work with our Zurich governance team and with client compliance, legal and IT functions.
What you will do
- Assess clients against FINMA Circular 2023/1 on operational risks and resilience, including cyber risk
- Review records of processing, data protection impact assessments and cross-border transfer mechanisms under the nDSG
- Advise on outsourcing and cloud arrangements, including data location and access by service providers
- Prepare data breach procedures for reporting to the FDPIC and FINMA
- Draft policies, training material and reports for compliance committees
What you bring
- 3+ years in data protection, information security or compliance in Swiss financial services
- Good knowledge of the nDSG and of relevant FINMA circulars
- Understanding of the EU GDPR and where Swiss law differs from it
- Experience writing for legal and compliance audiences
- Professional German and English; French is a plus
Good to have
- CIPP/E, CIPM or ISO 27701 qualification
- Experience with Swiss Bankers Association guidance on cloud use
